Rationalism

0 min read
For some time now I've been in the habit of describing my art style as 'Rationalist.' I don't mean this in the epistemological sense, but rather as a description of my approach to drawing details. The choice of subject is more or less whimsical, but I try when drawing the subject to present in a way that rationalizes the overall look. Captain America in World War II would logically not be wearing Spandex, but something perhaps more utilitarian; hence, I draw him wearing blue jeans and a white M1936 pistol belt (with military-issue pouches attached) substituted for the usual tights and black belt. I just wanted to let you know that your art is featured on this month's issue of the DC2's Superman, available here if you'd like to check it out: dc2universe.net/thread/10204/4…

Thanks again for your permission to use your art, and I hope we get to see more of your stuff covering out stories soon!
Regarding your NINE WORTHIES drawing, which I included in my FAVORITES collection, which women would you choose as female counterparts of them? Joan of Arc comes immediately to mind.
It's a bit difficult to determine who would have been suitable as the three female Worthies of the Pagan age, so I would suggest a slate of Greek (Atalante, Iphigenia, Penelope, and Antigone) and Roman (Veturia and Cornelia Africana) women. The Jewish women, I think, would be Ruth, Deborah, and Judith, or possibly Esther in lieu of one of the other three. No grouping of female Worthies in the Christian era could fail to include the Blessed Virgin Mary; I would suppose the others might be Mary Magdalene, Helena, Clotilda, Matilda, Eleanor of Aquitaine, or Joan of Arc.
And let's not forget Isabella the Catholic!Clap Clap Clap Clap Clap
Your work is jaw droppingly wonderful.
Sir, I would just like to say that both here and on the StarDestroyer.net forums your work has never failed to impress me!
happy birthday! :)
